2008-11-10 [Jitter]: The D&D Drow are also called Dark Elves. Drizzt's very own trilogy is called "The Dark Elf Trilogy" :)
2008-11-10 [Future Dictator]: ooo joining
2008-11-12 [arthemis_]: Me too! I never drew a drow...
2008-11-14 [Linn Scarlett]: But then again the Warhammer evil-elves are also called Dark Elves, and the Warcraft Night Elves were orignally designed as Dark Elves, even though they made it into the good-guys party. Whereas now the Blood Elves are the Dark Elves. And Technically speaking, Dragonlance also has... *adjusts glasses* ...did I just hear someone's brain explode?
*desides not to care too much and carries on spewing random info about Drow while rubbing the bits of brain from her robes* The name 'Drow' is actually, lore wise, coined by the elven elder God Corellon Larethian, head of the elven pantheon, after the Ssri'tel Quessir, a group of High Elves, assisted his ex-spouse/girl
Notice how 'Drow' is the reverse of 'Word'. /end random lecture
2008-11-14 [Linn Scarlett]: Sorry artsie, I just couldn't resist :3 For now I'll stick with Meldor, actually, as its more recent than the one of Linnerial and Fearn. But, as I have like a kazillion drawings I am working on, I might put a new one up. I've a really nice one laying around of Galk Manflayer and Zammzt Sinssoroth :3
2008-11-15 [Hedda]: There are plenty of already submitted drow arts on Drow submissions, Drow Contest and Drow contest 2.
You could ask the best ones to resubmit their drows here too.
The drow page could use some more pictures right away and maybe a fancier layout at the top. (Maybe dividing the entire page in a table with text to the left and images to the right as we have so many images? Or Images to the left... Hm...)
2008-11-15 [Artsieladie]: Oh, please! Do not apologise, [Linn Scarlett]! I love your art! As well I love listening to the knowledge that just so effortlessly flows from thy lips! *listened intently trying to grasp it all* :)
[Hedda], I thought about just announcing this link on those pages you mention. I wouldn't step in and even suggest that I know which the best ones really are, because it would just be 'my' opinion. :P
About the Drow page, perhaps, Linn would like the honour of fixing the page? *winks at Linn* :)
2008-11-16 [Linn Scarlett]: After you messed it up? ;) All right as soon as I've figured out how this new html stuff works, I will
2008-11-16 [Artsieladie]: lol I can help you with the tables if you want. :)
2008-11-16 [Linn Scarlett]: That would be much appreciated :3
2008-11-16 [Artsieladie]: Very well, then. I'll set up a faff page for it and PM you the link. Unless you want to set up a faff page. Either way, I'm easy, well, um, sometimes. ;) Then we can jump in there and really have some fun messing things up! *giggles*
2008-11-16 [Linn Scarlett]: You go right ahead, I am on your heels :)
2008-11-17 [Kahri]: Does anyone know how to save the quality of of drawing when you upload it? I can't get it to look the way it's supposed to!!!
2008-11-17 [moira hawthorne]: load it larger? is it squish down to 500px from a much larger work file?
2008-11-17 [Kahri]: Well the image size that I started with is 1440 x 1440 pixels.
2008-11-17 [Linderel]: You have priv 99, so you should be able to upload the image directly onto the wiki. In the wiki status box on the right, there is a button saying 'Upload a file'. Press that and follow the instructions.
2008-11-17 [Kahri]: WOOT! That is so much better! Thanks!
2008-11-17 [moira hawthorne]: yes much nicer... the auto compression on the upload on houses isnt very kind to art!
2008-11-18 [Kahri]: That is for sure!
2008-11-18 [Linn Scarlett]: Especially not the way it crops to the pre-defined borders, which sucks. As I mostly have upright rather than square art :/
2008-11-20 [Artsieladie]: Ok, will do, Linn. :) I'm glad the image issue got resolved for you [Kahri]! We prefer large images. :) Thanks [Linderel] for your help! :) All of my art is usually very huge, because they need to be huge for T-shirts. But I usually resize the image to 500 W and save that 500 one just for the slot in the house. It's better to resize it in the program, rather than have ET do the resizing. :P
